Open class with João Chaves, audiovisual producer and consultant, technical director of Balaclava Noir, a company dedicated to consultancy, rental, and installation of audiovisual equipment, and to the development of exhibition projects. He has collaborated with numerous institutions and artists, including Pedro Costa, Vasco Araújo, Musa paradisiaca, Pedro Barateiro, Ângela Ferreira, and Filipa César nationally, and Stan Douglas, Gary Hill, John Akomfrah, Chantal Akerman, Nan Goldin, Hito Steyerl, Nam June Paik, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul internationally. The session will focus on his pioneering experience in the Portuguese artistic audiovisual sector, as well as his unique approach to production methods and contemporary multidisciplinary artistic practices.

João Chaves is an audiovisual producer and consultant, technical director at Balaclava Noir, a company founded in 2011, with extensive experience in the development, management, installation, maintenance, and consulting of audiovisual projects in the contemporary artistic context.
