


The Art of Education. When the Museum and the School meet

We will talk about the objectives and resources of the Museum and the School, and how they can adopt a strategy of approach and interaction, as socio-educational entities that call for the active participation of young people through methodologies centered on artistic expression and creation. Sónia Matos, master’s degree in Teaching Visual Arts in 3rd Cycle and Secondary Education (IADE); degree in Fine Arts (ESTGAD). She began her career in the area of Education and Cultural Animation at the José Malhoa Museum, in Caldas da Rainha. Currently teacher at EDFR –Externato D. Fuas Roupinho (Nazaré). Since then, as a teacher at EDFR, she has been developing long-term educational projects built in partnership, which attest to the importance of coordinated planning between the School and the Museum, promoting interdisciplinary crossovers, artistic appreciation and sharing of results with the community . It is about these themes and some of these artistic education or education through art projects that she comes to talk to us.
