Tutoring and studio visit with contemporary art curator Anaïs Castro, as part of the tutorial support program for Project 2, a curricular unit offered by the Visual Arts Master. With extensive experience in institutional and independent curatorial work across international contexts, Anaïs Castro, currently a resident at AiR 351, based in Cascais and Torres Vedras, will engage directly with students in their workspace. She will share insights from her research, discuss her curatorial practice, and present both recent and upcoming projects, fostering dialogue and critical reflection.

Anaïs Castro is based in Montreal and New York. She holds a Master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Art: History, Curating, and Criticism from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts/Art History from Concordia University. Over the years, she has held positions at prestigious institutions, including the National Gallery of Canada and Arsenal Contemporary Art in Toronto and New York. Most recently, she joined the curatorial team as Assistant Curator for Kapwani Kiwanga’s project, Trinket, at the Canada Pavilion for the 60th Venice Biennale, working closely with curator Gaëtane Verna.
