The current trend is to create visual brands that are free from the the lettering component, thus focusing on immediate reading, thus pushing for instant recognition of the brand through the symbolic dimension alone. This trend is not unrelated to the fact that a large part of the contact with brands is increasingly made through digital devices with small screens, which are not compatible with formally complex visual identities.
As a final exercise of the curricular unit of Branding (Master of Graphic Design 2024) we present the results of the proposed challenge to visually synthesize a recognized brand. The student tried to find a figurative register that signals the brand on the threshold of its visual recognition as such and foreseeing a futuration of the formal hypothesis.
