This presentation takes as its starting point a set of photography books made by women (photographers and artists who used photography) in Portugal, bringing together authors with publications published between c.1970 and 2020.
The aim is to show part of the editorial practice of 10 women, in the national context, questioning the dominant narratives in the history of photography and the role of the book as a vehicle for artistic and documentary creation. We  will also present the digital platform Segunda Fotografia, created by Margarida Correia and Filipa Valladares with the intention of increasing the visibility and representation of the plurality of women who work  in photography, in Portugal.
